Encounter # 60:
"Jesus is the Messiah, The Son of God"
                                                                     Read Mark: 14:60-65

All the witnesses against Jesus failed. The Jewish leaders now commanded Jesus to speak the truth. They asked Him if He was the Christ, the Blessed Son of God. Jesus said He was.  The High Priest, Caiaphas accused Him of blasphemy. The verdict was death by stoning. Blasphemy meant a lack of reverence, insult or profane talk against God. The soldiers proceeded to spit and slap Jesus.  To carry out Jesus death, the Jewish leaders needed confirmation from the Roman Governor. That meant crucifixion.

Jesus proclaimed that He was the Christ, the Messiah. And He also admitted to be God. Who was on trial? Jesus or the Religious Court? Jesus knew Who He was.  Jesus is God in the flesh.
Read John  1:1, 14. Jesus said He was God. He is the way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).

As the Messiah, Jesus came to save us from our sins. Believe on Him and you will be saved (Acts 4:12). He is the only way to Heaven. He alone offers salvation. Have you received Him as your own personal Lord & Savior? If not, then do it today:
1) Receive God's Love:  John 3:16
2) Admit you have sinned: Romans 3:23;6:23
3) Repent of your sins
4) Invite Jesus into you heart
5) Receive His forgiveness
6) Be filled with the Holy Spirit

Prayer: Father, I receive Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I am sorry for my sins. Jesus, come into my heart and save me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Application: Tell someone else about the love of God and the forgiveness of sin that Jesus offers through His death on the cross.

Encounter Jesus:  Receive the peace, love and forgiveness that Jesus offers. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and fire. Jesus is real.
