Encounter
#35:
“All Things
Are Possible”
Read: Mark
9:14-29
The
disciples, a great multitude and the scribes were all together. The
scribes were questioning the disciples. Jesus shows up and the people
are greatly amazed and astonished. When people begin to question the
ways of God, expect Jesus to show up. Jesus to the rescue! Jesus
asked the scribes what they were questioning. They didn't answer.
They knew Jesus would have corrected them again.
A father
brings his only son to Jesus to deliver him. The son couldn't talk
nor could he hear. The father said the spirit tormenting his son
tears him, dashes him to the ground, seizes him, and the boy foams at
the mouth, grinds his teeth and becomes emaciated. The disciples
couldn't help him. Jesus said it was a faithless and unbelieving
generation. He rebuked them. The boy comes to Jesus but the spirit
throws him into convulsions. Jesus asks the father how long this has
been going on. The father said since he was a child. The boy also
gets thrown into the water and fire. It's a suicidal spirit also. The
father tells Jesus that if He can do anything, then have compassion
of them. Jesus says “If you can believe, all things are
possible...” The father said, “I believe, help my unbelief.”
Jesus then cast out the foul, unclean, deaf and dumb spirit. The boy
collapsed. Jesus picked him up. He was delivered. Prayer and fasting are the answer.
The devil
knows when his time is short. He tries everything to prevent souls
from coming to Jesus. But Jesus has compassion and brings
deliverance. God rewards even weak faith when He sees that there is a
desire for your faith to increase. All things are possible. Only
believe.
Prayer:
“Father God, even though my faith may be weak at times, I still
trust in you. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' Name. Amen.”
Application:
Encourage someone to continue to trust the Lord even though their
faith may be weak. With God all things are possible when you believe.
Encounter
Jesus: Call out to Jesus and ask Him to have compassion on you
and those you are praying for. Pray and fast. Jesus will step in. Receive His
