Jesus Wants to Heal Me
Read: Mark 5:21-43

Jesus crossed back over the Sea of Galilee and was met with a multitude of people waiting for Him. Among them was Jairus. He was one of the rulers in the synagogue. That meant that he had oversight of the worship, maintenance, order and general direction of the synagogue. He came crying to Jesus because his only daughter was at home dying. He had faith that if Jesus would lay His hands on her, she would be healed. Jesus began to walk to Jairus' home. As the crowd thronged Him a woman who was plagued with an issue of blood reached out and touched His garment. She said that if she can touch His garment, she will be made whole of the plague she had for 12 years. She had faith to be healed. Both Jairus and the women believed that Jesus could heal. Do you believe that? Receive it.

Jesus knew that someone touched Him in faith. The disciples derided Jesus because many people were around Him. Many people followed Jesus, but only one touched Him in faith! Jesus spotted the woman and said she was healed and made whole. Her plague was never to return. She was considered unclean and an outcast. She spent all her money on doctors but only got worse. Jesus knew her story and now she was cleansed and whole. Just then Jarius got word that his only 12 year old daughter was dead. He was told not to trouble Jesus any further. But Jesus overhead what was said and told Jarius not to be fearful, but only believe. They continued on to Jarius' home. Peter, James and John (the inner-circle) and the parents of the dead child went into the bedroom. Jesus did not allow the paid mourners to join with Him because they doubted Him and laughed at Him when He said she wasn't dead, but only “sleeping.” He touched the young girl and raised her from the dead. Everyone was astonished. Jesus raised the dead back to life again. Jesus has power over death.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please touch those areas of my life that need healing and may be dead. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Application: Reach out to the sick and dying and pray with them to be healed and raise up. Jesus has power over sickness and death.

Encounter Jesus: Receive Jesus as your Healer and Life-Giver now.

Good and Evil:  Gen. 2:8-17; 3:1-7,22-24. Adam was told not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. His wife, Eve and himself ate from it and knew what evil was and were removed from the Garden of Eden. Ever since then,  people are searching for  their "Paradise." Encounter #12 : God's Family (the Church) Matters Read: Mark: 3:31-35 Jesus' mother and His brothers were outside the house asking to see Him. Jesus had half-brothers and sisters (see Matthew 13:55,56). They didn't believe that Jesus was Messiah and Savior until after His resurrection ( John 7:5). Then, on the Day of Pentecost they were in the Upper Room waiting for the Promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4). Jesus asked the multitudes around Him if they knew who were His mother and brothers. He said those who do God's will are part of His family.
