Encounter #9:
Jesus
Does Great Things
Read: Mark
3:7-12
Large
multitudes of people were following Jesus. He withdrew Himself from
the crowds. We need to withdraw ourselves from the busyness and spend
quiet times with Jesus. They heard of the great things He was doing.
Because He loved them and had compassion on them He entered a fishing
boat on the Sea of Galilee and taught them.
As the crowds
increased, Jesus healed their diseases and plagues. Even those who
were possessed with unclean spirits fell down in front of Him and
cried that Jesus was the Son of God. Demons knew who Jesus was and
is. These impure, lewd, foul demons were obligated to acknowledge
Jesus for Who He is: the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus gave them
strict orders not to tell Who He was because the people themselves
needed to recognized Him as such, and it wasn't time for Him to set
up His Kingdom.
Religion
doesn't endear us to the Lord, but a relationship with Him does.
This relationship is personal and real. By receiving Him as Lord and
Savior we can spend personal and intimate times with the Lord.
The great
multitudes saw Jesus do great things. King David said that God's way
is in the Sanctuary and He does great things (Ps.77:13). The Lord is
a great God and a great King (Ps.95:3). The Lord, my God is very
great (Ps. 104:1). God's greatness is unsearchable (Ps.145:3) and
great is the Holy One of Israel (Is.12:6). Tell of God's greatness to
others.
Prayer:
My Father, You are the great and mighty God. You do great things.
Thank
you for showing Your greatness towards me. Help me to acknowledge
how great You are to others. I love You.
Application:
Recite verses from the Bible on God's greatness. Read the Psalms. Go
and tell others about Him and what He has done for you. Begin to
praise Him and acknowledge that He has power to save, heal &
deliver.
Encounter
Jesus: Spend time in the
Presence of Jesus. He is the Mighty One of Israel. He desires to
spend time with you. Recognize His Greatness.
