Good and Evil: Gen. 2:8-17; 3:1-7,22-24. Adam was told not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. His wife, Eve and himself ate from it and knew what evil was and were removed from the Garden of Eden. Ever since then, people are searching for their "Paradise." They are looking for a "Utopia," a "Paradise,", a "Promised Land," a "Nirvana", without God. They have their own views, religions, and theories on God , sin, Satan, Jesus, and self.... They delve into cults (Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Science, Scientology, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mindfulness, Yoga, Meditation, New Age, Occult, etc....). Whenever someone rejects, or is ignorant of the God of the Bible and His Son, Jesus the Messiah, they will try many "paths". Encounter #24 : “ Be of good cheer...Fear not” Read: Mark: 6:45-56 After feeding the multitudes, Jesus told His disciples to go to Bethsaida. Jesus sent the people away and went up into a mountain to pray all night. The apostles were on the Sea of Galilee and Jesus was in the mountain watching and praying. A storm arose on the Sea and the apostles were rowing and struggling against the wind. They were distressed and tormented. Encounter #10 : Ordained, Appointed and Anointed Read: Mark: 3:13-19 The word Apostle means someone who is sent by the Holy Spirit; an ambassador of Jesus; commissioned by Father God; a messenger of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. An Apostle is sent on a mission. He is a missionary of the Gospel. Ephesians 4:11 mentions the 5 “ascension gifts” that Jesus gave to the Church. They are called the 5-fold-ministry. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He released these gifts, or offices to His Church. These offices are still in the Church today, and are still needed. One of them is the Apostle. Some Christians are called to be an Apostle. This is a calling from God. It is not a self-proclaimed Apostle, or someone who has gone to a school and trained to be an Apostle. They are called by the Holy Spirit. You may not have this office, but you are still called by God.
