Encounter # 68:       Holy Spirit, Move       Read: Genesis 1:1-2

    Before time, there was God.  God, the Supreme Being, our Creator, Elohim  is from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2). There was never a time when God did not exist! He is Elohim: the One with the plurality of Persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The eternal Trinity. All three were involved in Creation.

 "In the beginning..." is the origin of  the universe. God is separate from His creation.  Matter, time and space were created by Him. The book of Hebrews 11:3 states that "by faith we understand that the worlds (universe) were framed (completed) by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were made not made of things which do appear." God made everything out of nothing. The trees, rocks, animals, air , humans, etc. all were created by God. They did not come from any previous things. God made them.

 God made the "heavens and the earth." The 3 heavens are: the atmosphere, the universe and God's home. God has a plan. Nothing was made, or happens by chance. It is all by God's design. The earth was without form (no order) and void (empty; vacant). Darkness was on the surface of the deep. But the Spirit of God moved, hovered, brooded over the surface of the waters. The Holy Spirit is pictured as a bird hovering over the emptiness, darkness, deepness, barrenness, vacancy and shapelessness. He "fluttered lovingly" over God's creation. This tells me that there is nothing and no one too dark, deep, empty or confused that the Holy Spirit cannot reach, touch, change and restore.

  The Holy Spirit moved in spite of the circumstances. There is hope for everyone and every situation. Do you know of someone deep in  sin? in darkness? empty? barren?  The Holy Spirit will still move. Are you "into something?" The Spirit of God will restore, deliver and set you free.  Don't give up on someone, something or yourself. Trust God.

 Prayer: Father, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to comfort, counsel and convict me . Help me to surrender everything and everyone to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

 Application: Pray for someone who is deep into darkness and confusion. Ask the Holy Spirit to set them free. Encourage them to trust the Lord. There is  hope. God can reach them.

 Encounter Jesus: Receive the anointing, power and deliverance you need from the Holy Spirit to set you free. His power is available right now for you.

Encounter #10 : Ordained, Appointed and Anointed Read: Mark: 3:13-19 The word Apostle means someone who is sent by the Holy Spirit; an ambassador of Jesus; commissioned by Father God; a messenger of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. An Apostle is sent on a mission. He is a missionary of the Gospel. Ephesians 4:11 mentions the 5 “ascension gifts” that Jesus gave to the Church. They are called the 5-fold-ministry. When Jesus ascended into heaven, He released these gifts, or offices to His Church. These offices are still in the Church today, and are still needed. One of them is the Apostle. Some Christians are called to be an Apostle. This is a calling from God. It is not a self-proclaimed Apostle, or someone who has gone to a school and trained to be an Apostle. They are called by the Holy Spirit. You may not have this office, but you are still called by God. Good and Evil:  Gen. 2:8-17; 3:1-7,22-24. Adam was told not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. His wife, Eve and himself ate from it and knew what evil was and were removed from the Garden of Eden. Ever since then,  people are searching for  their "Paradise." They are looking for a "Utopia," a "Paradise,", a "Promised Land," a "Nirvana", without God. They have their own views, religions, and theories on God , sin, Satan, Jesus,  and self.... They delve into cults (Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Science, Scientology, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mindfulness, Yoga, Meditation, New Age, Occult, etc....). Whenever someone rejects, or is ignorant of the God of the Bible and His Son, Jesus the Messiah, they will try many "paths".
