Encounter #62:                                              King of the Jews
                                                                     Read: Mark 15:1-28

The second meeting of the Sanhedrin occurred. Jesus was asked if He was the King of the Jews. Jesus said,  "What you are saying is true. You said it!" Jesus told them He was the King of the Jews. They considered this blasphemy. Jesus was sent to Governor Pilate. During the Passover season Pilate released a prisoner to the Jews. They wanted Barabbas. He was a thief and a murdered. Jesus was scourged and sent to be crucified. He was proclaimed as the King of the Jews. Simon of Cyrene from North Africa  helped Jesus carry the cross. He was crucified on Golgotha (Calvary). His garments were  divide (Psalm 22:18).

Jesus is still the King of the Jews and Savior of the world. We need to receive the forgiveness of the cross. The cross offers us forgiveness, peace, healing and reconciliation. Because Jesus was crucified,  Barabbas was set free. Because Jesus was crucified, thieves, murderers, sinners can be set free. There is hope for everyone because of the cross. King Jesus still saves, heals and delivers.

Prayer: Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me. Give me the strength to follow Him. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Application: Proclaim to the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is their Messiah and Savior. Pray for souls to come to Jesus.

Encounter: Receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit to be a witness for Jesus. Acknowledge that Jesus is King, Messiah  and Savior. Receive His love and power.
