Pentecost is for Today

Acts 2:36-38 We can still experience the power, anointing and fire of the Holy Spirit today. 36  “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37  When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38  Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off —for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Have you been Baptized in the Holy Spirit? Jesus is the baptizer. He wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Just as on the Day of Pentecost, Jesus is still filling His people with His Spirit. Mother's Day began with President Woodrow Wilson on May 9, 1914. Abraham Lincoln said: "No one is poor who had a godly mother." 1 John 4:7-21 Mothers are often fearless, especially when it comes to the safety of their children. As you might expect, scientists having been studying this phenomenon, and they think they’ve figured it out. Apparently, it has something to do with hormones, or more specifically, a drop in peptide levels that occurs during lactation. When this happens, fear vanishes. Scientists made this discovery by studying mice, but it doesn’t take detailed studies of mice to know that mothers normally will do everything they can to protect their young. Just try getting close to a grizzly bear cub or a lion cub and you’ll quickly discover that their mothers don’t take kindly to such offenses.
